The fifth annual “A Night on the RunWade” was a charity fashion show hosted by Dwyane Wade’s non-profit foundation, Wade’s World, which took place March 19 at the Revel Fulton Market. The former South Beach event, presented by DSquared2, was transplanted to Chicago for the first time and featured a fashion show, cocktails, culinary delights from some of Chicago’s top restaurants and chefs, entertainment, auction items, music and a host of VIP guests. All proceeds from the event went to the Wade’s World Foundation in its efforts to provide support to community-based organizations throughout Chicago.
rEvolution signed on to handle all PR and communications efforts supporting A Night on the RunWade in the months leading up to the event with the goal of driving both ticket sales and awareness. rEvolution’s PR team reached out to a broad network of Chicago sports and lifestyle media, which included securing broadcast features on ABC, CBS, CSN, WGN, FOX and mentions in print publications such as the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times and Michigan Avenue Magazine. The event was also listed on 20 different Chicago-based event and lifestyle calendars. Additionally, the PR team helped to foster an exclusive broadcast partnership with Chicago’s Comcast Sports Network, which yielded two in-game mentions and an in-game feature during CSN’s Chicago Bulls broadcasts.
Onsite at the event, the rEvolution PR team also handled all media and photography credentialing and managed all media requests during the red carpet. After the event, the Chicago Tribune said, “A Night on the RunWade scores for at-risk kids.”
