When the Bulls signed veteran guard and Chicago native Dwayne Wade last offseason, the city didn’t realize he was bringing an extravagant fashion event with him.

Slated for March 19 at the Revel Fulton Market, the fifth annual A Night on the RunWade is a South Beach event transplanted to Chicago and will feature a fashion show presented by DSquared2, cocktails, culinary delights from some of Chicago’s top restaurants and chefs, entertainment, auction items, VIP guests and special surprises. All proceeds from the event will go to Wade’s non-profit organization, the Wade’s World Foundation, to benefit the Chicago community.

“Fashion is a part of me. I just kind of grew into enjoying it. I grew into the different ways to express yourself through fashion, through your style,” said Wade. “I look forward to bringing the thrill and excitement of A Night on the RunWade to my hometown of Chicago. Dsquared2 will bring their high end looks from Milan to Chicago for an unforgettable night of surprises while raising funds for the community.

“For me, it’s always been about charity, it’s always been about Foundation, it’s always been about having fun. You want people to want to come, to want to dig into their pockets and want to support. The best way to do that is to say, ‘Hey, we’re going to have a phenomenal night, it’s going to be fun, it’s going to be entertaining with a lot of laughs and we’re going to introduce you to a little fashion.’”

Chicago-based agency rEvolution is handling local promotions and public relations of the event, and CEO John Rowady said Chicago is in store for a star-studded evening.

“A Night on the RunWade promises to be an extremely unique event,” Rowady said. “Now being in Chicago, Wade and the Wade’s World Foundation has an opportunity to really make an impact on the community. With rEvolution having our roots in Chicago, I’m truly excited that we’re involved.”

This year’s event, themed ‘Reflections,’ is open to the public. Tickets start at $175 and grant guests access to the fashion show viewing area and general admission, while individual VIP access is $350 per guest. Group ticket sales are also available. For more information, visit www.runwade.com.
