When Winnebago and world champion baseball manager Joe Maddon hooked up for a multi-year deal, we saw an opportunity to make some noise. We survive on a steady diet of Chicago sports and authentic sponsorship connections, so launching the Meet the Maddons campaign with Winnebago was a no brainer. rEvolution’s MarComm team went to work to build a fun, youthful campaign around the RV enthusiast, which focuses on his cool factor and likeability. Starting with a launch video and photo session at spring training in Arizona, the three-year partnership will highlight, with fun videos, blog posts and social content, the Maddons’ love of their off-season Winnebago lifestyle

To kick off the campaign, our PR team partnered with ESPN’s Baseball Tonight and Sunday Night Baseball to showcase Joe’s new 2017 Winnebago Grand Tour, which has all the bells and whistles. Joe toured ESPN’s Jessica Mendoza around his swanky ride and shared the story of Theo Epstein courting him to Chicago in his old RV. The result—more than 43 million unique digital and social impressions around the Cubs/Yankees Sunday Night Baseball broadcast, which came on the eve of the Meet the Maddons partnership announcement.
