Getting past France was big. But then again, any exit without the trophy would have been a disappointment for the U.S. Women’s National Team. For us, the last few months have been a balance of superstition and confidence, particularly working with U.S. Soccer in planning viewing parties for the final two rounds of the tournament.

As reigning champions, we expected the U.S. to make it to today – the much anticipated Semifinals matchup starting today at 2pm CT that (fingers crossed) puts us one step closer to victory. But in a high-profile, single elimination tournament, it would be foolish to consider anything a guarantee. So we watched, hoped, cheered to get to this point, all while securing permits, calling food trucks and organizing talent for the pending events.

With the viewing parties set near the Chicago lakefront in Lincoln Park, we couldn’t wait to add our own touches to the event. Keeping with Chicago ties and talented females, DJ King Marie and Sarah Gorden from the Chicago Red Stars were our first picks to kick things off. And just announced, they’ll be joined by U.S. Soccer legend and Chicago-based Brian McBride.

While work for the viewing parties was underway, we were all fans ourselves. Gathering in the Bear & Rabbit to watch the U.S. since game 1, visiting the U.S. Soccer Fan Studio in the West Loop and never changing the channel from the FOX soccer broadcast.

Not to mention our work with Continental Tire around the tournament, including spots with Alex Morgan and Tobin Heath running throughout the tournament and social content (mascot included, with in-game commentary of his own) supporting the 23-player national team roster.
