Director, Accounting

rEvolution is an independently owned sports marketing agency. We have an exciting opportunity for a Director of Accounting. Reporting to the Controller, this position will also work closely with the Director of Finance, supervise a team and will have exposure to the agency CFO.


General Accounting-
• Oversees the general accounting functions which includes inter-company accounting, cash management, reconciliations, and balance sheet management
• Responsible for management of cash flow forecast and reporting
• Manage month end close checklist, deliverables and timeline
• Manage financial statement preparation, analysis of accounts and comparisons; ensure all individual and consolidated financial statements are accurate and timely
• Serve as liaison with parent company and ensure Corporate deliverables are achieved

Internal Controls-
• Lead the development and implementation of internal documentation initiative; relating to core deliverables, projects, and standards
• Accountable for ensuring policies and procedures are in place and being followed
• Ensure ERP environment continues to operate as required; involved in validating and designing suggested changes to ensure accounting requirements continue to be met
• Coordinates work relating to both internal and external audits; responsible for tracking and implementing audit recommendations
• Responsible for creating monthly internal compliance metrics to facilitate SOX and internal control compliance; generate monthly and quarterly management reviews to highlight high risk and non-compliant processes/controls

Financial Reporting-
• Manage financial reporting; ensure all reporting is accurate and timely
• Lead efforts to prepare financial and accounting reports for Company management
• Manage monthly reviews with key stakeholders to drive performance and growth; in-depth understanding of results and variances to budget, forecast and prior year
• Collect, analyze, and interpret financial and operating data
• Assist in the preparation of annual budget and interim forecasts

• Direct management responsibilities of accounting staff; performance reviews, monthly check-in discussions and professional development/coaching
• Continued assessment of team structure and framework
• Manage the payroll process, working closely with the HR team, and ADP.
• Corporate credit card administration
• 401k administration
• Assist with Local, State, Federal, and Foreign tax filings
• Assist with annual and quarterly audits
• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting or related degree
• CPA or on track to become CPA
• 6-8 years of experience, preferable agency or professional services experience
• Background in Public Accounting is a plus
• Innovative and able to access and improve processes
• A good understanding of GAAP
• Proficiency in NetSuite or similar ERP
• Proficiency in MS office especially Excel
• Organized, innovative, professional, mature and can safeguard confidential information
• Excellent Communication Skills
