Analyst, Consulting

The Consulting Analyst at rEvolution will take a key supporting role within the Consulting department in providing industry and sponsorship intelligence, and developing commercialization and sponsorship strategy for brands and rights holders. The Analyst will be a proactive and productive team member willing to help out however necessary and will assist the team in the day-to-day functions of Consulting as well as shared services to cross-departments

Whether compiling industry research on trends and best practices, maintaining a database of sponsorship deals and competitive activity, visualizing data and insights for client deliverables, facilitating quality control, or overseeing relationships with vendors, this position will focus on staying current with industry developments and managing internal resources to elevate client projects and internal initiatives.

The position will report to the Supervisor, Consulting & Research and the role will be based full-time in Chicago HQ.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Consulting Client Management (35%)

  • Conducts background research for portfolio optimization, activation strategy and other similar consulting projects by using internal, public and syndicated sources
  • Analyzes sponsorship competitive data to identify trends and opportunities for clients
  • Supports evaluations and valuations of sponsorship properties for brand clients
    • Support could include (but is not limited to): the collection and analysis of information and proposals from rights holders, the management of communication with rights holders, compiling necessary data from public and syndicated sources
  • Assists in the preparation of client deliverables by visualizing data, integrating information from various sources, identifying key themes and working with the project team to deliver the key insights that inform strategic recommendations
  • Coordinates with creative and editing teams to ensure a top-quality final product
  • Presents key findings and analysis to clients (internal or external), as necessary

Management of Sponsorship Database and Syndicated Tools (35%)

  • Builds and maintains internal sponsorship database, including but not limited to: data entry, fact-checking, data quality checks and the evaluation of the validity, reliability and usefulness of information collected
  • Identifies and researches tools to improve internal processes and capabilities
  • Leads select vendor relationships as day-to-day product liaison and expert
  • Educates team and disseminates vendor updates and product info to ensure relevant internal users are maximizing subscriptions / resources

Integrated Client Services (30%)

  • Provides marketplace, competitor and sponsorship intelligence to sales, marketing and client teams
  • Monitors press releases and sponsorship news to gather the latest sponsorship information Remains current on sponsorship and marketing trends as well as best practices that impact rEvolution’s clients and the industry at large
  • Collaborates with other departments on client projects and initiatives to support agency’s mission of integrated services

Desired Skills, Experience & Abilities:

  • 1-3 years of professional experience
    • Research and analytics experience a major plus
    • Sports and/or lifestyle marketing experience also a plus
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong critical thinking skills and a commitment to accuracy
  • Intellectual curiosity and a strong desire to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • An entrepreneurial mind-set and a true self-starter who can work independently
  • Ability to identify trends and uncover insights from large data sets
  • Experience visualizing complex data in easily understood charts and graphs
  • Experience with business intelligence and/or syndicated research/analytics tools (i.e. Tableau, Nielsen, MRI, Statista, Global Web Index, etc.) a plus but not required
  • BA/BS degree in business or social sciences preferred
